PETTER OTTESEN, born 1976
Project Engineer | DEEP KNOWLEDGE Petter first became acquainted with ODIM through a summer job, and then joined the staff full-time in 1994, as an apprentice in the mechanical assembly shop. After completing his advanced craft certificate, he was away on leave a good deal in order to complete his military service and education as M.Sc. in Product Design and Manufacturing, at NTNU. In 2005 Petter took on a permanent position as Project Engineer in the business area of Subsea & Deepwater installation. As a Project Engineer he participates in the design process, of development of various products. The actual development of concepts is achieved in collaboration with sales & marketing personnel in order to find out what the customers want, followed by presentation of the technical solutions. “It gives you job satisfaction to be able to take part in the whole process. It’s extra satisfying when we are able to follow the progress of the product all the way. Sometimes we’re able to join in on testing the product, other times we are out there in the vessels, and are able to see ‘on the spot’ how the product performs in its correct element, says Petter”. |
