Drop in Drum Reel The ODIM JMC DID Reel concept is for offshore and onshore operations worldwide. The rough design, proper guiding and tubing protection combined with minimum dead weight represent valuable profits with respect to rig up and operation.
Key benefits:
- A Powerstand can serve several different drums
- Drum can be spooled directly by tubing manufacturer
- Both drums and Powerstands are designed for road transport
- Quick and safe rig up and exchange of drums
- Tubing protected by transport frame during installation
- Strong and reliable main drive system which is fully enclosed
- Proper access platforms
- Low drum weight, enabling maximum tubing weight capacity
- Offshore proof design, minimum maintenance offshore required
- Certified for offshore handling
Size range:
There are two sizes of powerstands, one designed for up to OD232” Drums, which can hold up to 7700 m 2 7/8" tubing, and one for maximum OD192” drums with a capacity of 7300 m 2 3/8". Smaller systems can also be offered.
The concept is based on having all driving functions on the powerstand, which enables a simple drum design which is optimal with regard to minimized dead weight and price. To reduce the need for offshore maintenance, the powerstand is equipped with closed oil filled gearbox, and lifetime lubricated bearings.
Disposable Drums (DDIDs) can be a beneficial solution, eliminating the need for yard spooling, as they are designed to correspond string life.
DDIDs have a simplified design, and can be offered in various sizes and with the needed amount of certification and painting.
The DDIDs can be offered with a special designed reusable transport cradle which fits into the powerstand, alternatively a very simple cradle just for transport to location.
The JMCT DID system is protected by a US, UK and Norwegian patent. The system also provides numerous combinations of Powerstand and drum sizes. | DID Reel These reels are developed for operations in the North Sea,
