| The ODIM Source Handling System is
intended to pick up the gun-arrays from
sea level and bring it on board a vessel. The
device consists of two movable beams with
two movable winches in the beam.
The beam is driven aft/forward by a
carriage with two drive units.
When the gun-array is about to be
launched, the beam is moved aft towards
the fixed position-attachment-points of the
vessel. The gun-array is then moved aft and
launched into the sea.
In addition to this main purpose, the boom
can be used to move all items within the
weight limitations, internally on deck or
from gun deck to sea and back. Key benefits:
